UX Design Manager, Amazon

UX design leader shaping Amazon's AI-powered hiring ecosystem.

I set the UX vision for a portfolio of AI-powered hiring products, scale the design organization behind it, and partner with product leadership to turn long-range strategy into executable roadmaps.

Executive Narrative

I operate where executive UX strategy, org leadership, and complex service systems meet.

I translate fragmented talent systems into a coherent experience agenda for hiring managers, recruiters, interns, candidates, employees, and the teams building for them.

I build the conditions for design to influence at scale: durable UX principles, interaction models, usability feedback loops, roadmap rituals, and design standards that help PM and engineering execute with shared conviction.

My role is to make the future visible from a UX point of view: define the experience bets, clarify tradeoffs, and give product leaders a stronger basis for prioritizing what to build next.

Scale And Outcomes

Design leadership measured in portfolio clarity, execution quality, and enterprise scale.

Hiring quality 21% -> 50.6%

Set the UX direction for decision-support moments where hiring managers need clearer signals, judgment, and confidence.

Execution model New PDLC

Established a stronger model for moving from ambiguous strategy to testable concepts, aligned roadmaps, and buildable work.

Recruiter efficiency 481K+

Reframed recruiter workflows around strategic judgment, relationship quality, and reduced coordination burden.

Intern experience 73% -> 90%

Directed a guided lifecycle model that made global intern milestones easier to understand, complete, and scale.

UX roadmap 10+ tools unified

Visualized a future-state experience that moves disconnected hiring tools toward persona-centered journeys across sourcing, interviewing, mobility, and onboarding.

Design org 0 -> 12

Built the UX organization, rituals, and quality bar needed to support an expanding enterprise product portfolio.

Portfolio scope 6 domains

Led UX strategy across sourcing, hiring, recruiting, intern programs, internal mobility, and employee onboarding.

Turned a fragmented service landscape into a future-state UX roadmap for connected hiring and onboarding journeys.

Amazon portfolio

Selected work across the hiring ecosystem.

Each story is framed around portfolio vision, design organization leadership, executive alignment, and high-quality cross-functional execution. Internal implementation details are intentionally summarized for external review.

Hiring Hub | Hiring manager platform

Set the UX north star for a hiring manager workspace grounded in decision clarity.

Hiring managers were moving across disconnected systems, manual approval chains, recruiter updates, and opaque candidate pipelines. I set the UX agenda for a workspace organized around manager intent: understand role health, see what needs attention, review candidate evidence, and make confident next-step decisions from one trusted operating view.

  • Established the information architecture for task prioritization, pipeline visibility, and candidate decision-making.
  • Defined experience principles for explainable AI summaries, match signals, and manager control.
  • Kept the UX north star visible in product leadership conversations and roadmap sequencing with PM and engineering.

Past work

Before Amazon, I designed enterprise products across procurement, industrial systems, and connected mobility.

Amazon is my current scale story, but my practice was built across multiple enterprise contexts: simplifying configuration complexity, leading discovery research, and translating customer evidence into product direction.

SAP Ariba Oct 2018 - Jul 2020

Designed the future of SAP Ariba configuration for 3.6M users across 190 countries.

SAP Ariba Intelligent Configuration Manager
Problem

Enterprise administrators had to manage complex configuration changes across a broad SAP Ariba portfolio with limited visibility, auditability, and self-service control.

Solution

I led the product design for Intelligent Configuration Manager, simplifying setup workflows and partnering across product, engineering, QA, and visual design.

Impact

Shipped the first release within 9 months, informed by stakeholder and customer usability testing with teams including Bank of America, IBM, Intuit, Ford, and Deloitte.

Cisco Aug 2018 - Sep 2018

Led early discovery for industrial monitoring tools and connected mobility concepts.

Cisco Industrial Network Director
Problem

Industrial operations teams needed clearer visibility into factory-floor networks, machine sensors, and connected systems that were difficult for non-IT users to monitor.

Solution

I worked directly with product managers and customers to shape discovery for Industrial Network Director and connected mobility concepts.

Impact

Turned interviews, surveys, and customer evidence into early product direction for industrial monitoring and autonomous vehicle communication opportunities.

Design Leadership

The work behind the work: scaling the UX organization and operating model behind the portfolio.

I create leverage through people leadership, executive alignment, UX strategy, prioritization, and quality systems.

Org building

Scaled UX from 0 to 12

Built the design organization needed to cover a growing portfolio across hiring, recruiting, intern, mobility, and onboarding experiences.

Operating model

Created the design operating system

Established intake, prioritization, workback planning, critique, usability testing, and decision rituals that made quality repeatable.

Strategic influence

Shaped executive roadmap decisions

Used UX signals, systems mapping, and future-state narratives to help product leadership choose the highest-leverage bets.

Systems thinking

Made the long-term direction visible

Created future-state flows, experience principles, and roadmap narratives that aligned teams beyond the next feature.

How I Lead

My default is to make complexity legible, then turn it into an actionable UX agenda.

01

Start with the whole service, then decide which user moments deserve design precision.

02

Bring usability signals and user feedback into roadmap conversations while investment choices are still open.

03

Design AI around trust: explainability, user control, and clear handoffs to human judgment.

04

Scale through talent density, decision hygiene, executive narratives, and a shared language across UX, PM, and engineering.

About

I bring systems thinking, design craft, and executive product leadership fluency.

My work sits inside complex enterprise systems, but my practice is grounded in a simple belief: teams make better products when UX vision, roadmap priorities, team structure, and execution rituals are designed together.

I am a UX design leader at Amazon focused on AI-powered hiring, recruiting, intern, mobility, and onboarding experiences. I lead through ambiguity by turning fragmented workflows into a portfolio-level UX agenda, then building the team conditions needed to deliver with quality.

Outside of my day-to-day leadership work, I stay active in the broader design community through mentoring, judging, portfolio coaching, and public writing about UX leadership, career growth, and creative practice.
